    Your FTP upload process needs to provide feedback on its progress in some way and you need to monitor that progress. In the method you write to monitor this progress, toggle the state of your led - on -> off or off -> on. I don't know what you are doing to implement the FTP upload so I can't give any detail on how to do this.
