Default Best way to avoid overlapping X-Axis Labels

Hi. I am brand new to Qwt, I have 1 year of Qt experience, and many years w/C++. I am using: Qwt 6.1.3, Qt 551, Visual Studio 2013.

My first-ever Qwt task is to eliminate the occasional x-axis date label overlap that occurs when zooming in and out on a QwtPlot in our existing code base - image attached. I know this has been discussed in past posts [referenced below] but which one is best? Is there something better? I'm interested to know how people are managing/avoiding this. Thank you!
