I have upgraded from Qt 4.1.3 to Qt 4.2.2 and qca2/openssl no longer works. Does anyone know of any incompatability issues with reference to this.

When I launch our app, message states "...ciphers cannot be loaded".

I upgraded Qt about a month ago and also had some problems. But IIRC it had something to do with debug libraries. I had QCA compiled with debug and it needed some libs which disappeared in 4.2. I compiled QCA one more time and it started working.
The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills.
