manually means by own between the translation tags
i am using language tools of google to try the unicode application
i am not getting if in one of my application of trial is working then its not working
i am getting one difference as what you said in translation tags
it is automatically changes after 2nd lupdate (which is done for modification)
i enter "Frençais"
lupdate covert it "Frenais"
according to you it should be "Fran?ßais"
according to you it is the problem of encoding ....do tell me where i have to enter the encoding part
do tell me how it should be done???
i already told my steps to create ts files
as you are saying
tell me that lupdate and lrelease are not the tools of linguist now again telling you stepsSo why did you say that you were using Linguist??????? I asked you precisely if you were using Linguist to do the translation and you said yes!
i had use lupdate to create .ts files
then whatever is my translation for my source in ts i do enter then between the translation tags of .ts files
then lupate to modify the .ts file
at last lrelease for .qm files
now tell where i am wrong???also tell for some source and translation why this error occurs on time of modification of .ts file (i.e lupdate again) "XML error: Parse error at line 1295, column 14 (tag mismatch)."??
There are three tools: lupdate, lrelease and linguist. And I mean the last one - one you should use for performing the translation itself. You shouldn't use a text editor nor any other 3rd party tool, because they don't guarantee that you'll be using the correct encoding, etc. So if you want your problem fixed, use Linguist please. Otherwise you'll be just running in circles like we have been for the last two pages of this thread.
Just to be clear - I mean this tool: http://doc.trolltech.com/latest/ling...anslators.html
wysota ,please cool down and read this reply and tell where i am wrong
from the start of the query i was really hoping the reply by you only for the topic of linguist because i beleive you are the really a "GURU" of this forum...
yes i already tested that also
as i had already told you.....
linguist is giving "!" yes i know even it against to validation rule
so i want to know how it can be resolved???
and it gives the error on time of modification of ts file (lupdate 2nd time) not on time of creation...
due to this error some translations are not working...
so please dont get angy by usingjust tell me the simply solution means why still its giving the error for my query...??like we have been for the last two pages of this thread.
hope you are not angry...
thanks in advance
Did you try upgrading your Qt installation as suggested?
hi wysota
and thanks alot of all last your's usefull post
now every thing is working well
project is now translated in another languages very fine
but here is one another problem of alignment of text for all other languages except english
it is working well in english but for all another languages it having the problem with alignment of text
like line which is starting from fisrt in english that is starting from second line in another language than english lke german and chinese
can you tell me the solution for it??? so that for english geometry remain same and when i choose another then it change accordingly that show equally fine for it all other languages
thanks in advance
All widgets should adjust themselves to the content if you didn't enforce any static sizes. Please double check your widget layouts.
thanks jacek
no its not starting from newline character not even single space.

The ts you provided is not a valid translation file. Linguist refuses to load it. Did you save it with Linguist?
Your dialog still doesn't contain layouts. If you don't provide them your labels won't resize.
thanks for reply
how to set layouts of dialog
is it should be done by coding or it be done by designer??
beacause of i am not aware of these layouts ??
so tell me how it should be done
and see this ts file attached

Please answer one question - Why are you not using Qt Linguist to edit ts files? Because I know you are not using it. The file you provided last time is not even a valid xml file, so you must have edited it by hand. Why are you not using tools meant for the job? Look at this thread - three pages of posts that could be avoided if you used Linguist from the start. All your problems (apart from the layout problem which I also already mentioned a few posts earlier) are caused solely by the fact that you do not use Linguist to make the translations. So again, what is the reason for not using Qt Linguist?
no wysota
you are thinking wrong i am using linguist
i used it like this now you just see to the following steps these are steps for the linguist or for what...
lupdate (to create .ts file) or is there another way to create it
then open it in Linguist tool from open toolbar or menu
check each translation for validation (i had used the done &next toolButton)
save from linguist
and release from under its file menu
or tell me if there any another way to use linguist???
if i am facing problem with it thats why i am quering otherwise why i do query???
and now i had added the layouts in ui see if something else required
see the attacment again the ui and the .ts file

Great that you finally decided to use proper tools. Unfortunately your layouts are still broken - you don't have to put each label into a separate layout, that's not the point. You need to apply the layout to the whole form, so that when you resize it, all components change their size as well (try previewing and resizing your form). Follow the links J-P gave you and maybe also see this tutorial: http://www.wysota.eu.org/tutorials/tut_designer1.avi
