    Default Horrible flickering with QtQuick

I am running Qt 5.3.1 on a VMWare virtual Ubuntu 14.04. The problem I am having is a horrible flicker with certain windows. This is most noticeable with Qt Creator. But it's only the Welcome page, which leads me to believe it might be QtQuick/OpenGL related. It does not happen with other Qt Creator pages.

When Qt Creator starts there is a white flicker as the window comes up. Then if Welcome page is display, mousing along the menubar so that menus popup and disappear, there is horrible white flashing, making nenu navigation almost unusable.

Has anyone else seen this? Any known fixes, workarounds? Thanks.

Default Re: Horrible flickering with QtQuick

Problem turned out to be Qt 5 incompatibility with KDE 4. Since this was a vmware image, opportunities to tweak video settings were not present. Switched to Unity (ugh) and problem went away.
